ABOUT PACK MASONRY
Since being formed by James Pack in 2014, Pack Masonry Ltd has grown into a large scale stone masonry & stone supply company that can provide a full and comprehensive service to both private and commercial sectors. We are now based just outside Bradford on Avon which allows us to be in close proximity of all Bath’s stone mines. Our location offers us excellent transport links to southern Englands major road routes allowing us easy access to London, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Birmingham and many other areas of the UK.
We pride ourselves on always creating a close working relationship with all our customers, to aid and ensure the success of their projects however large or small. Pack Masonry Ltd now has an even larger production facility and has invested in multiple machines, saws and expert stone masons. This allows us to be flexible, produce intricate bespoke pieces and work on supplying numerous orders of a variety of sizes at the same time. On site our team of stone masons undertake stone cleaning, restoration/conservation, rubble walling and all aspects of the superstructure including block work, porotherm and stone cladding.

I started working as a stonemason when I left school in 1985. After completing my apprenticeship with Ernest Ireland Construction and the City of Bath College, leaving with an Advanced Craft Certificate in Masonry. Initially I worked with lots of local firms gaining experience and then when the economic climate changed, I worked across the North of England and the South East which enabled me to work with different materials and learn different practices. During my career I have worked on many prestigious projects including Londons prestigeous Tower Bridge and The Queens Windsor Castle! Where I was involved in making the cases for the crown jewels. Alongside this a huge variety of other big projects in London. However my love of my home town was always going to bring me back. When the climate allowed I came back to Bath and have been involved in many projects that are familiar in the local area: numerous projects on the Royal Crescent, a series of new builds on Bartlett Street in Bath. I was also part of the team that restored St. Catherine’s Court on the outskirts of Bath. Alongside this I have also been involved in many extension projects across the South West UK. After many years working in banker shops and fixing gangs the time came for me to be running a business. Pack Masonry was born.
